Welcome to the Church of the Holy Communion!
Called into being and empowered by the Holy Spirit
to worship and adore God the Father
in the Mysteries of Christ Jesus' Body and Blood
and to bear witness to the fullness of the Catholic faith.
The Church of the Holy Communion is an Episcopal Church in the "Holy City" of Charleston, South Carolina. While "young" among many of the churches of this city (we're only a bit over 150 years old), we carry a rich history and observe the same Anglo-Catholic liturgy and ritual that have been used for hundreds of years. On Sundays, we offer a Said Mass at 8:00 AM and a Solemn High Mass at 10:30 AM. Between these two we have breakfast, fellowship and Christian Education. During the week, we have Morning Prayer and Mass daily, as well as Masses on feast days and other special occasions (See Service Schedule and Calendar).
At Holy Communion we have guilds and groups seeking to fulfill Christ's call to love God and our neighbor in many ways: Youth, Society of Mary, Missions, Neighborhood Medical Clinic, Meals on Wheels, Food Pantry, Bread of Heaven, Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament, Choir, Flower and Altar Guilds, and many other service and social groups and opportunities. Look around our website. Contact us with any questions. We especially invite you to visit with us, meet us, and to become a member with us in the eternal Communion of the Body and Blood of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
